11111: The Date Which Second Most Resembles Corduroy
Here’s what will be happening in New York on January 11th, or 1/11, the date which second most resembles Corduroy in the year of the 21st Century which most closely resembles Corduroy.
We will muster at 7 PM on the Northwest corner of 1st Ave and 11th Street (the school corner) on the East Side of Manhattan. Look for a tall figure in a Corduroy cloak holding a Whale placard. Say hello to the person and they will confirm IF you are in the right place. At 11 minutes after 7 (7:11) we will march EAST (with our banner) on 11th Street to a location called The 11Th Street Bar (510 East 11th Street). In the back room of the bar, we will do these things:

Wallow in our deep fellowship by acting Cordially to one another and the complete strangers with whom you have been brought together through dear Corduroy.
If it seems secure, practice our secret rituals

Attempt to form Committees to undertake large plans for 111111
Celebrate this new year which resembles Corduroy!

Please be aware, this will be rather unlike our Grand Meetings which occur on the dates which most closely resemble Corduroy. There will be no rousing speeches, moving musical performances or interpretive dances. This is our casual meeting. Please do not be disappointed by the lack of formality, the lack of pomp and circumstance.
If you are unable to attend our meeting in New York, I wish you a very happy and healthy Year Which Resembles Corduroy and hope that you can mark the date which second most resembles Corduroy, as you see fit. Do encourage your friends, family and colleagues to wear Corduroy—it’s the answer. Above all, use this as a time to make mental preparations for the changes which will occur in our lives on 111111.
